Current OECD Composite Leading Indicator for Canada: 101 (N/A vs last year)
Feb 2025
The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) Composite Leading Indicator (CLI) for Canada is a metric designed to provide early signals of turning points in economic activity relative to its long-term potential. It combines various economic indicators to anticipate fluctuations in the business cycle.

Theoretically, a falling CLI trend typically indicates a recession may be imminent, while a rising CLI suggests economic expansion. The absolute value of the CLI is less important than its recent trend.
